Things are nowhere near depressing enough on this site so I thought I'd talk about Morrissey. An awful lot of hate for him at the moment to the point where some people on Twitter (I know) are saying they've removed their entire Smiths catalogue from their music collection which, frankly, is a little hysterical. The bloke has always said outrageous things for attention and it seems (to me at least) that's exactly what he's doing now with all of his bizarre political comments. I admit to being a big Moz fan over the years, but it's very difficult to defend him these days. It does seem that he's hellbent on dismantling his legacy week by week, but the way the public (and The Guardian) are reacting it's like he's committed crimes akin to Jimmy Saville. We live in strange times where outrage is the go-to reaction.
Thing is we've been here before. The NME accussed him of being racist in the 90s and he strongly denounced it. I was always of the opinion that he was just misunderstood or mis-quoted, but what's strange now is that he isn't defending his comments - perhaps because he feels he doesn't have to - but surely in today's society, more than ever before, nobody can be comfortable being tarnished as a bigot, even if they secretly are?
Is the whole saga a mawkish overreaction or has he finally lost the plot all together? The end result is he will surely never be welcomed back in to the mainstream now - which will be music to some people's ears.

... Bizarre merchandise at his latest gigs where he signs other peoples albums. $ 300 gets you David Bowie's Aladdin Sane with a big Morrissey autograph across it .

I watched a documentary on the making of the original planet of the apes and the thing that I remember was that the first time they all had their outfits on when they all went to lunch everyone sat down with the people who had on the same costume. They automatically stayed with people of the same “type”

Der, the point you were trying to make was the point I made that you didn't read. It's also a scientific fact that people are attracted to others that look like themselves or their parents. Another cunt that keeps ignoring what is actually written and just moves the goalposts, it's you trying to start an argument too.

It's like arguing with a five year old. I don't care about the rest of your post. I disagreed with that particular sentence.
Go and argue with poor old WHU(Exeter). He's got a lot more patience than I have.

Er... no it's not. Lots of people couldn't care less about race.

It's only natural that people do prefer their own race, it's how nature works. Pretty sure that it's hardwired into our genetics, obviously though humans are still evolving and are complex creatures and opposites attract too and plenty of people are attracted to other races, colours, creeds and the same sex. Apparently mixed race is best, same as mongrel dogs as only the strongest and best genes survive from each race. Too much inbreeding and breeding is a bad thing.

He said people prefer their own race. It's true.
_______
No it ain't
Yes it is, it's very clear they do. That's due to thousands of years of evolutionary instinct.
Everyone makes an effort to suppress it because it's effectively obsolete, but it's there, in your reptile brain somewhere

The left can say what they want, call white people racists, white men "gammon" throw food over politicians they don't agree with and promote the shallowist gansta lifestyle nonsense whilst swearing and deriding Tories with swear words and it's fine. Someone dares to say something honest about the effect of mass unchecked immigration like London is not an English city anymore and they go mental. I despise the left these days, to think I was left wing when younger too. People in the UK generally are thick as pig shit and have no common sense or life experience, just a bunch of tubby reactionary virtue signalling snowflakes, fuck em all, cunts! Too many people ) cunts on the planet. One animals life is worth more than the lot of em, I said that not Morrisey!

Oh I'm a massive Jam/Style Council fan but Weller nowadays is so far up his own arse it must give him a cricked neck... give the fans what they want at the live shows... not play your newly released album all the way through... didn't even bother with an encore as the majority got up and fucked off to the bar

By the age of 22, Marr was General manager, tour manager, partner songwriter and lead guitarist of an internationally renowned band. All because a truculent, egotistical morrissey kept falling out with and sacking managers. It all became a bit too much for young Johnny and who can blame him.

There was a good BBC4 documentary a couple of years ago (from memory about the Manchester scene) where Johnny Marr went into the background of the band's break up. They had just finished an album. Johnny Marr had written and arranged the music, run the recording session and Morrissey had been acting the diva throughout. Marr was trying to arrange a your and Morrissey wasn't getting back in contact so he went round to his house. Morrissey wouldn't answer the door and Marr had to resort to shouting through the letter box but still no answer. Morrissey was in as Marr could hear him moving about so Marr gave one last warning to Morrissey that if he didn't answer the door then Marr was leaving the band. The was no answer so that was the end of The Smiths.
